Sunday Feb 6th, 2022
Travel Day happened on Feb 6th! We got through security and we made it to Florida. Did our walkthroughs at Target, then we checked into our room!
My travel day went pretty smoothly. Woke up in 9 degrees, hopped on the plane at 21 degrees then made it to Florida where the weather was 60 degrees! As someone born and raised in the Northeast, that is beautiful weather I never thought I wouldn’t get in February. Our party was coming from many places. Nyx and I were coming from Massachusetts, Lauren was coming from Nebraska, and Chelsea came and picked us up from the Orlando Airport.
After a detour for boba tea and picking up necessities at Target, we finally went to Port Orleans Riverside, our new home for our week around Florida. This place is more than I expected and I love it so much! It might be a big resort, however there is so much to see and take in. One of my favorite things is the room itself because of The Princess and the Frog theme (I will have another blog post focusing on the room at a later date!)
After unpacking we decided to stay close to the resort to start our week and got food at Riverside Mill Food Court. One of their specialties at this resort is Jambalaya and let me say…yum! We all tried some of the 50th Anniversary specialties available like the Raspberry cheesecake!
We got our food then it was time for a drink at River Roost, one of the 2 bars at Riverside. Here they focus more on appetizers and drinks than a physical dinner meal. I got the Magical Star Cocktail as part of my order and I think it was the best way to start the trip! As a group, we shared Loaded Potato Puffs.
Our travel day went extremely smoothly and we were able to get to the resort without any problems. I know one thing for sure, whenever a trip has a smooth travel day makes for a good trip!
