I have only been on one Disney Cruise in my 23 years of living and this cruise took place in the summer of my junior to senior year when I was only 17. However, this Disney Cruise was a highlight of my life. It was a chance to explore the seaside of life. I went with my dads’ side of my family and it featured a 4-night trip to Castaway Cay- Disney’s Private Island. My trip featured 2 days there, and a day at Nassau, and an extra day at sea. I chose to stay on the boat at Nassau so I can explore the ship a bit more. There was so much on the ship from entertainment, dining, and shopping. But it was a highlight of my life.
I also want to preface this that a Disney Cruise is kind of on the pricier side, but the price you are getting features so much involved.
Now that I got my preface out of the way, lets discuss the ship. Disney Cruise line has 4 vessels (Disney Wonder, Disney Fantasy, Disney Magic, Disney Dream), plus one on the way (Disney Wish…There will be a blog about the Disney Wish at a later date) but the ship I went on was the Disney Dream. The Dream had so much entertainment for someone who was under the age of 18. (I cannot say how its like as someone over the age of 18…yet 😉) There are 2 pools on the Skydeck with a screen to watch a movie, a water slide, sports area, and both a proscenium theater and movie theater. It was a place where I could run rampant without adult supervision. To top it off, there's also an exclusive teen hangout area known as “Vibe”. (For the tweens of your family there is Edge, and for the youngest members of your party, there is the Oceaneer Club.) The cast members in the kid’s areas gave entertainment perfect your party to escape while the parents had fun of their own.
But let’s not just talk about the entertainment. Let’s talk about food. I had a freshman 15 on the ship alone 😂. For starters, there was an ice cream machine on the Skydeck. Unlimited Ice Cream, any time, any day. Also, there was a buffet table with many different options. Besides the buffet, you also had the option to do the sit-down lunch of the day, but also got a Dining rotation between the dining experiences onboard. On the Disney Dream, you have Royal Palace, Enchanted Garden and Animators Palette. These three restaurants have exquisite design, and the food options are beautiful. And finally, there are options on the Skydeck for when you are hungry on your day at sea that are Cars themed.
The final thing I want to discuss is shopping on board. On the main floor where you enter the ship (where customer service is) there is a small shopping plaza featuring three different shops. My favorite of those three shops was Mickey’s Mainsail. This store features anything and everything for Disney Cruisers as well as Sea Treasures. The most expensive store on ship would be White Caps, a store that features jewelry and Designer Bags.
What I have listed are just words on a page. But when you are on the ship, you get to experience so many different things from exploring the ship to then exploring the port of calls. There is so much to do, and you can carve the schedule that you want to do. For more information on not just the Disney Dream but the other ships, check out the Disney Cruise Line Website.

Would you want to do a Disney Cruise?
My next Disney Cruise is going be at beginning in June 2022 and I will blog my experience as an adult instead of a kid.
