Now you might be wondering why I am saying Olaf is Rapunzel. Well, I woke up at 6:45 (willingly with no alarm on November 12th) and I woke up slowly. Then it hit me….Olaf! It was Disney+ Day and the release of Olaf Presents! I turned on my TV and saw Olaf in all his glory. When I say Olaf is one of the funniest characters, I mean it.
In Frozen 2, Olaf revisits the first Frozen movie when he, Anna, Elsa, Sven, and Kristoff get lost in the Enchanted Woods and meet with the Northuldra people. Olaf explains what has happened to them on their journey and makes the Northuldrans weep.
Olaf Presents follows our favorite snowman from the Frozen franchise as he demonstrates the summary and plot of everyone’s favorite Disney movies. In the first installment, the five movies that were featured were Tangled, Moana, The Lion King, Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid. I believe that these are some of the best movies to showcase this new series. These are movies that children in the 90s and 2000s grew up with and connect with. And those who have kids now can connect with Olaf and the new generation because of these shorts.
The series involves an arraign of characters. We have Olaf, our beloved narrator of the stories. The man who the show is named after. His trusty sidekick, Sven (my brother’s name on my phone is Sven. But his name is Steve). Sven plays so many different roles in the series. Our other characters are played by the abominable snowman and snow babies of Arendelle.
Each episode of the series is only a minute long and with a very short script. There is a good amount of dialogue in them, and Josh Gad as Olaf seems to find ways to make it entertaining.
Now here is the next question…is there going to be a season 2? I do not know for sure. However, I do hope that there is. There are so many different movies in the Disney realm that can be turned into shorts. I would love to see Cinderella, The Princess & the Frog, and Toy Story as part of season 2. Maybe even branching off to Marvel Universe or Star Wars.
Olaf Presents gives a new interaction with our favorite snowman built by Elsa. We get a minute short that gives a summary of a movie from the eyes of Olaf. I really recommend if you need something to watch, I recommend watching these short comedies.
What movie would you like to see Olaf summarize?
