Our Wednesday was a combination of rest and Universal day! The biggest things we did during this day walked around Universal and hang out in the Harry Potter areas!
We did start off our day with a lap around the Island of Adventure. I have never been to Universal Parks before and I honestly did not know what I would like when we got there. I will say that it was pretty cool doing a lap around the Island of Adventure and seeing all the fun that there is. We started our lap by going through Marvel Superhero Island and Toon Lagoon. I love the look and appearance of these two areas. I must say I also love the design around The Lost Continent. (BTW Poseidon’s Fury just reopened!)
We did our full walkthrough of Islands of Adventure and made our way through the Wizarding World of Harry Potter where we saw Hogwarts! Everyone else in the party went onto Hagrid’s Magical Creature Motorbike Adventure. They all had a blast! While writing this post, I asked my friend Nyx their opinion on the ride:
“Holy S***. As someone who has never been on a rollercoaster before, that was a nice way to start riding them.” -Nyx
After we were done in Hogsmeade, we took the Hogwarts Express all the way to Kings Cross where we entered Diagon Alley. In Diagon Alley, we all got ourselves something of a refreshment. I got myself an “Elixir to Euphoria” which is basically a green drink. Everyone else got a form of Butterbeer.
We got to be in Universal during Mardi Gras, so I tried something that is during the Mardi Gras celebration. I tried a hot dog that had a spiral baked potato chip attached with a Cajun queso. The Cajun was there!!!
As someone who has always gone to Disney World and never been to Universal, this was a nice entry into the park to see what it is all about.
As stated in the title, this was both a Universal & Rest Day. We left universal around 2 and headed back to the hotel where we just rested and relaxed throughout the rest of the day.
For Dinner, we went to one of the restaurants that were on my list to return to…Chef Arts’ Homecomin’! Know for the southern hospitality and the amazing fried chicken, this restaurant always gives me something new to try! For an appetizer, I tried some Gator Bites. (Gator honestly tastes like chicken) (Big 21+ tip, if you decided to get Moonshine…do not get it in the 22-ounce refillable cups. Great souvenir…a lot of moonshine.) After we did some shopping at World of Disney and the Coca-Cola store and then headed back to our hotel to end the night.
