What to Pack for a Disney Cruise Trip!

Writer's picture: Ryan JamesRyan James

Bon Voyage and All Aboard! Disney Cruise Line has some amazing opportunities for guests to relax, be active, or even try new things! I have done one Disney Cruise in my lifetime, but it was such an amazing experience, and I cannot wait to do it again. (It is coming up real soon!) The last time I was on a cruise I was only 17 and I got to check out the teen-only area Vibe on the Disney Dream. It was awesome. I cannot wait to explore more of the nightlife now that I am above age. But what do you bring when you go on a Disney Cruise?

Passports or Identification

This should be the first thing that you pack away for your trip! Your passport is going to be both your key to getting on the ship and your key to getting off at the most port of call. There are some ports of call where you do not need a passport-like Castaway Cay. Here is a link to which ports of call you would need a passport. If you do not have a passport, I recommend taking a look at the Documentation page on the Disney Cruise Line site.

Clothing

You would want to make sure you have enough casual clothes with you. I like to pack a little extra in casual clothes just in case. On some cruises, there 2 different themed nights: Pirate Night & Semi-Formal nights. I remember when I went on the Disney Cruise Line the first time and did not have anything for Pirate Night. Also, pack at least 2 different bathing suits. This way while one is drying, the other is ready for the next day!

Sunscreen

The fact that I am a red-headed, pale individual makes me a higher risk of needing sunscreen. If I do not wear sunscreen…I will get burnt. Make sure you pack a sunscreen that is good for you and good to protect your skin.

Binoculars

I have done one Disney cruise and when I went on the cruise, we had a verandah. I loved being able to go out on the balcony and just take in the sea and the beautiful air. One thing I brought with me was a pair of binoculars so I could see if there are sea animals or even see the nearby ships that was on the water.

Magnets

Being a part of a Disney Cruise also means immersing yourself in the Disney experience! One of the best ways to do this is by getting magnets for your stateroom door. The doors on the Disney Cruise Line ships are metal so you can decorate the door with magnets. Also having personal magnets can be a nice little fish extender gift.

Pin-Trading

Pin trading can happen in a couple of different ways. One of the most effective ways is by wearing a lanyard and walking around the ship and see other people. Another method is by having a pinboard on the stateroom door! (This is what I am going to do on my next cruise!)

When is your next Disney Cruise? Let me know in the comments!
